MTV U Woodie Awards

 
Mark Prysler, a mascot for the GW Spirit Program, was selected by MTV to open the MTV U Woodie Awards and present the award for "Breaking Woodie." The show is put on by the network to give college viewers a taste of undergroung music and breaking artists.The "Breaking Woodie" award highlights the best emerging artist in the music industry.  Since freshman year Mark has been working for The George Washington University's radio station, WRGW, where he hosts a hip hop show called Funkadelic Freestyles that can be heard on gwradio.com.  The show has been going on for three semesters and has gained a lot of listenership from the DC hip hop commmunity.  Mark's repitoire as an energetic personality and it was his DJ talent that attracted MTV U to his radio show, which led to him coming on to present the award.

The MTV U Woodie Awards were presented at 8 p.m. on MTV U on 11/2/06 but are still available to watch at MTVU.com. For more information about the Woodie Awards check out mtvu.com.
