Contest Rules

1. Currently enrolled students are invited to create a maximum-length one-minute video on the topic “GW-Show your Spirit.”

2. General Guidelines: Videos should NOT contain content that

• is unlawful, harmful, threatening, abusive, harassing, torturous, defamatory, vulgar, obscene, libelous, invasive of another's privacy, hateful, or racially, ethnically or otherwise objectionable;
• show nudity, partial nudity or adult content;
• show illegal acts;
• harm minors in any way;
• endorse a vendor or a product;
• reference alcohol or drugs, show participants drinking or under the influence of alcohol or illegal substances.

3. Video entries should be posted to YouTube and the link sent in an email to goGW@gwu.edu. The email must also contain the student’s name, email address and phone number. Groups of students may also submit entries. One student should be designated as captain and include information above, as well as list all members of the group.

5. Submission of a video to the contest is understood to mean that you give permission for The George Washington University to use your video in promoting the institution, using videographer’s name, hometown, major and year.

6. All entries must be posted on YouTube and the link emailed by 11:00pm, Sunday, October 11, 2009.

7. All videos will be reviewed and the top three entries will be featured on the GW Spirit Program website.  Producers of the top three videos will receive a giftcard to the GW Bookstore.

8. The grand prize for the video contest receive a new Digital Camera!
