About Us

The GW Spirit Program includes a nationally competitive co-ed cheerleading team, the First Ladies Dance team, and our famous mascots: George, Big George and the Hippo. 

Talent award scholarships are granted to all members of the Spirit Program.  Tryouts for the cheer, dance and mascot teams are held in September (Cheer & Mascots) and April (Cheer, Dance, & Mascots).  Incoming freshmen and transfers are eligible to attend either tryout.  The Spirit Programs are committed to entertaining Colonials fans and promoting GW athletics.  The program welcome everyone to share in the spirit of GW!
